Passengers who meet the requirements for a test in Cyprus

Green Category 

COVID-19 molecular test is not required.

Orange Category

If you are traveling to the Republic of Cyprus:

  • from a country categorized in the Orange category (Origin Country of departure by any means of transport) or
  • you have stayed/ lived in an Orange category country within the last 14 days before your trip to the Republic of Cyprus from a Green Category country or
  • you will be a passenger on an international trip to the Republic of Cyprus from a Green Category country, via an intermediate Country (ies) of Orange category with an overnight stay, or
  • you will be a passenger on an international trip to the Republic of Cyprus, from an Orange Category country, via an intermediate Country (s) of Orange Category with or without an overnight or
  • you will be a passenger on an international trip to the Republic of Cyprus, from a country of Orange Category via an intermediate Country of Red Category and/ or Grey (Special Permission) Category, without overnight stay,

according to the relevant categorization of Countries announced by the Republic of Cyprus and you belong to at least one of the following Passenger Categories (Paragraph A) and in case of passengers referred on numbers 1 and 2 of Paragraph A you fulfill one of the conditions (Paragraph B), you have the option to request the COVID-19 test to be carried out upon your arrival in the Republic of Cyprus (Laboratory tests will be carried out on arrival, you will pay the cost of the test  and you are required to self-isolate until you receive the results of your test):

Paragraph A

  1. Cypriot citizens and their family members (foreign spouses and their minor children).
  2. Persons legally residing in the Republic of Cyprus.
  3. Persons allowed to enter in the Republic of Cyprus under the Vienna Convention.

Paragraph B

  1. Passenger who has received at least the first dose of the two-dose vaccines approved by the Republic of Cyprus
  2. Minor aged 16 to 18 years old who has completed at least the first dose of the two-dose vaccines approved by the Republic of Cyprus.
  3. Minor passenger 12 - 15 years old. 
  4. Passenger who, for certified medical reasons, cannot be vaccinated.

Red Category

If you are traveling to the Republic of Cyprus:

  • from a Country categorized in the Red Category (Origin Country of departure by any means of transport) or
  • if you have stayed/ lived in a Red Category Country(ies) within the last 14 days before your trip to the Republic of Cyprus from a Green or Orange Category country or
  • you will be passengers on an international trip to the Republic of Cyprus from a Green or an Orange Category, via an intermediate Country (ies) of the Red Category with an overnight stay or
  • you will be a passenger on an international trip to the Republic of Cyprus, from a country of the Red Category via an intermediate Country (ies) of the Grey (Special Permission) Category, without overnight stay,

according to the relevant categorization of Countries announced by Republic of Cyprus, you have to perform a second COVID-19 test upon your entry to the Republic of Cyprus and you will personally pay the cost of this second COVID-19 laboratory test (you are required to self-isolate until you receive the results of your test).

If also the result of the second Covid-19 test, performed upon your arrival in the Republic of Cyprus, is negative, you will not remain in a state of compulsory self - isolation or quarantine.

In case you belong to at least one of following the passenger categories (Paragraph A) and in case of passengers referred on numbers 1 and 2 of Paragraph A you fulfill one of the conditions (Paragraph B), who have been given the option to undergo only one COVID-19 laboratory test, upon arrival to the Republic of Cyprus:

Paragraph A

  1. Cypriot citizens and their family members (foreign spouses and their minor children).
  2. Persons legally residing in the Republic of Cyprus.
  3. Persons allowed to enter in the Republic of Cyprus under the Vienna Convention.

Paragraph B

  1. Passenger who has received at least the first dose of the two-dose vaccines approved by the Republic of Cyprus
  2. Minor aged 16 to 18 years old who has completed at least the first dose of the two-dose vaccines approved by the Republic of Cyprus
  3. Minor passenger 12 - 15 years old. 
  4. Passenger who, for certified medical reasons, cannot be vaccinated

and you have chosen to undergo ONLY one COVID-19 test, upon your entry into the Republic of Cyprus, you will personally pay the cost of this COVID-19 laboratory test, upon your entry into the Republic of Cyprus and following this you will be under compulsory self-isolation for 72 hours after your arrival in the Republic of Cyprus and you will repeat a COVID-19 molecular RT-PCR test, upon completion of the 72 hours, at your own expenses, the result of which must be negative and you will upload the result of your laboratory test via the CyprusFlightPass Platform when requested by the Republic of Cyprus, according to the instructions and the precautionary and self-protection measures of the Ministry of Health.

Grey (Special Permission) Category

If you are traveling to the Republic of Cyprus:

  • from a Country categorized in the Grey (Special Permission) Category (Origin Country of departure by any means of transport) or
  • you have stayed/ lived in a  Grey (Special Permission) Category Country(ies) within the last 14 days before your trip to the Republic of Cyprus from a Green or Orange or Red Category country or
  • you will be passengers on an international trip to the Republic of Cyprus from a Green or an Orange Category or a Red Category, via an intermediate Country (ies) of the Grey (Special Permission) Category  with an overnight stay

according to the relevant categorization of Countries announced by Republic of Cyprus:

  • you will be under compulsory self-isolation for 14 days, according to the instructions and the precautionary and self-protection measures of the Ministry of Health, regardless of whether the result of the COVID-19 laboratory test is negative, either at your residence or in case you do not have a residence in the Republic of Cyprus, at a place that will be indicated to you by the Republic of Cyprus or
  • you will be under compulsory self-isolation for 7 days, in case you will repeat a COVID-19 molecular test, on 7th day of my self-isolation, with a negative result, at your own expenses and the result of the laboratory test has to be uploaded via the CyprusFlightPass Platform when requested by the Republic of Cyprus, according to the instructions and the precautionary and self-protection measures of the Ministry of Health.

If you belong to at least one of the following Passenger Categories (Paragraph A) and in case of passengers referred on numbers 1 and 2 of Paragraph A you fulfill one of the conditions (Paragraph B), you have the option to request the  COVID-19 test to be carried out upon  your arrival in the Republic of Cyprus (Laboratory tests will be carried out on arrival):

Paragraph A

  1. Cypriot citizens and their family members (foreign spouses and their minor children).
  2. Persons legally residing in the Republic of Cyprus.
  3. Persons allowed to enter in the Republic of Cyprus under the Vienna Convention.
  4. Persons, with a nationality of third countries, having a special permission by the Republic of Cyprus Persons, as defined under the infectious Diseases (Determination of Measures Against the Spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus disease) Decree (N.34) of 2021 as amended.

Paragraph B

  1. Passenger who has received at least the first dose of the two-dose vaccines approved by the Republic of Cyprus
  2. Minor aged 16 to 18 years old who has completed at least the first dose of the two-dose vaccines approved by the Republic of Cyprus
  3. Minor passenger 12 - 15 years old. 
  4. Passenger who, for certified medical reasons, cannot be vaccinated
  5. Passenger who obtained special permission with prepayment for a PCR test upon arrival in Cyprus

In such a case you will personally pay the cost of this laboratory test, upon your entry to the Republic of Cyprus.
